PRP Hair Rejuvenation is a safe treatment for many patients; however, it may not be appropriate for everyone. During your consultation, we'll review your medical history to determine whether you're a suitable candidate.

Treatment may not be recommended if you:

• Have an active infection in the treatment area
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have active facial cancer
• Are currently undergoing chemotherapy or taking immunosuppressive or steroid medications
• Have a bleeding disorder, platelet deficiency, or clotting condition (such as thrombocytopenia)
• Are taking anticoagulant medications (such as Warfarin)
• Have sepsis, chronic liver disease, hepatitis, or another severe acute or chronic infection

Most PRP Hair Rejuvenation appointments take approximately 60 to 90 minutes. This includes the blood collection, PRP preparation, and treatment itself. The exact duration may vary depending on the treatment area and your personalized treatment plan.

The recommended number of treatments depends on your hair loss pattern, treatment goals, and how your body responds to PRP therapy.

At Avail Aesthetics MD, we generally recommend an initial series of three treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. To help preserve your improvements, an annual maintenance treatment is typically recommended.

Because PRP is created using your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction is extremely low. The treatment contains no animal-derived or synthetic ingredients, making it a highly biocompatible option for hair restoration.

Temporary side effects are generally mild and may include:

• Redness
• Swelling
• Mild bruising
• Tenderness
• Itching or sensitivity at the injection sites

These effects typically resolve within a few days. If needed, Tylenol® may be taken for discomfort. We recommend avoiding ice packs after treatment, as inflammation plays an important role in the healing and regenerative process.

Most patients tolerate PRP Hair Rejuvenation very well. You may experience mild pressure or slight discomfort during the injections, but a topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to improve your comfort. Some temporary redness or minor bruising may occur after treatment and usually resolves quickly.

PRP Hair Rejuvenation requires little to no downtime. Most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after their appointment.

You may notice mild redness, tenderness, or slight swelling around the treated areas for one to two days. Bruising is uncommon but can occur and generally fades within a few days.

Hair restoration with PRP is a gradual process because it works by stimulating your body's natural hair growth cycle.

Many patients begin noticing improvements in hair quality, thickness, and reduced shedding within 2–3 months of starting treatment. More significant increases in hair density typically develop over 6–12 months following the initial treatment series. Individual results vary depending on factors such as age, hair loss severity, and overall health.

Following your treatment, proper aftercare can help optimize your results. We recommend that you:

• Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated scalp for the remainder of the day.
• Keep the treatment area clean and avoid washing your hair until the following day, unless instructed otherwise.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours.
• Stay well hydrated and follow any personalized aftercare instructions provided by our team.
• Most patients can return to their normal activities the following day, including washing their hair and resuming their regular routine.
